I haven't done this in a long time but with the talent that this up and coming producer/engineer has, I felt it was necessary to put the spotlight on Marisa-Janae aka JanaeBlaze. 22-year old Marisa-Janae has been making beats for a number of years and is on her way to the top. She has interned at Diddy's studio Daddy's House and has many connections in the music industry. She has started producing beats for independent artists and is currently available to make beats for any artist in need. Check out her latest work, a Biggie-inspired sample beat entitled "Output".

Tell me what you think.

To contact her, email Marisa-Janae at Janaeblaze@gmail.com
For more info on her, check her out at  myspace.com/blaze_is_hot and  twitter.com/marisa_Janae

106 & Park's Rosci States Her Peace For Honey Magazine

You either love her or you hate her..real talk. Rocsi is no stranger to people bashing her name on the blog sites and far beyond. When she burst onto the scene as the new female host of 106 & Park (ultimately replacing Free), people looked at her like "who the hell is this chick?" Rocsi says, " I’ve always had that coming up against Free on a black network and not being black.”

Yea, she's spunky and has a somewhat cool personality. But she states, “Rocsi the personality and Rocsi the person are two different people." Aside from whether we like her personality or not, she's been talked about for a number of reasons, from her choice in clothing to her "alleged" romantic link to LisaRaye's ex-husband, Michael Misick. “With men in my life, I’ve always made good choices. I would love to think that. It’s just really hard to trust people, and that’s just coming from not knowing everybody’s intentions,” Rocsi says. She's also been linked to her co-host Terrance J, Floyd Mayweather, Trey Songz and Tyrese.

“I spent time doing radio so anybody that came on that couch, I had already interviewed. I had weight to my name already. So Queen Latifah, Ludacris, Lil’ Wayne, Baby, all these people respected me. They know me; they know I’m a hardworker. I just went out last night, and I had a genuine good time. I hardly ever really go out,” Rocsi says. “And the next day its ‘Rocsi’s dating … popping bottles with Trey Songz … tryna get with ...’ I was like ‘What?! No, I wasn’t even sitting at his table!’” If I take a picture with somebody, I make it a point not even to put my arm around them. And it’s so hard because people just want to pick on you. I’m like ‘Dude, you don’t sleep with everyone you take a picture with.’ Like, come on. I think it’s getting to an ignorant stage.

She talks about more, including her issue with weight and getting to where she is at Honey Magazine.

He's Hot, You're Not

It's crazy how quickly and often things change in music. One minute you're at the top, nobody able to touch you. Then the mext minute, we're like "who?"

At one point, not too long ago, T-Pain was untouchable. Appropriately nicknamed "The King Of Collabos", he was on EVERYBODY'S damn song. Some of his masterpieces include "Low", "Blame It", "Buy U A Drank", "Can't Believe It", "Go Girl", "One More Drink", "Kiss Kiss", "Good Life", "Outta My System", "The Boss", "Got Money" and the list goes on and on. Every time you turned on the radio, there he was. Now, it seems as if he's faded to the back.

His style of singing became very much scrutinized in Jay-Z's song "Death Of Autotune" and the rest is history.

Now, it seems like the one in the spotlight is Atlanta Rapper, Gucci Mane.

He is mos definitely doin' his thing. He has been on numerous songs including "Obsessed (Remix)", "Break Up", "Freaky Girl (Remix) and "5 Star Chick (Remix). He has worked with Usher on "Spotlight" and Plies on "Wasted". He has an album coming out in December, The State vs. Radric Davis.

Do ya thing Gucci.

spotlight: photographer lloyd PARKS (43 STUDIOS)

This week's spotlight is on a phenomenal photographer. His name is Lloyd Parks and his work is amazing. Here's a little more about him:

"I AM LLOYD PARKS...DESIGNER, ILLUSTRATOR...PHOTOGRAPHER.

I AM UNORTHODOX IN MANY WAYS.

I do this because art is a natural part of my life. My skills were developed over years of dedication. I cannot stop the work that was set before me. I am not for everyone nor are my skills and talents. It may also seem like I do not care or show indifference, well the indifference part may be true and that's due to my not wanting to taint or expose myself to anything that is not what I am about. I can careless for comments. They do not pay the bills nor do they strengthen my skills.

Do I think I am the best? Not really. I'm just the best at what I do. There are photographers who are close to me and who's work I simply adore. Artists, stylists and MUA's. But I am one who constantly evolves and grows both artistically and mentally. I believe that the application of knowledge is wisdom and through that I learn to apply what I know to my life and profession.

THIS ISN'T A HOBBY...A JOKE...A PASTIME OR ANY SUCH THING. THIS THING OF MINE IS A PROFESSION AND PROFESSIONALS HAVE SKILL LEVELS. IT IS HONED BY CONSTANT LEARNING, EVOLVING, TRIAL AND ERROR, LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES AND OTHERS AND LISTENING TO THOSE GREATER THAN YOURSELF. A GOOD STUDENT WILL LISTEN, RETAIN, STUDY, PRACTICE AND EXECUTE!

EVEN MY DETRACTORS AND CRITICS MAY HAVE SOME SEMBLANCE OF TRUTH IN THEIR WORDS...BUT THE UNDENIABLE PROOF OF MY WORDS ARE IN THE FORM OF MY WORK.

SO TO ALL ASPIRING ARTISTS -- FROM MUSIC TO ART, PHOTOGRAPHY AND MORE...

ALL I CAN SAY TO YOU IS THIS, EVERYTHING IS A TOOL. EVERYTHING YOU CAN LEARN AND ACHIEVE. EVERYTHING THAT SOMEONE SAYS OR DOES CAN BE GRAFTED INTO YOUR CREATIVITY. I WIELD PHOTOSHOP LIKE THORS HAMMER, YET I CAN PAINT AND DRAW AS WELL AS DESIGN BY FREEHAND. I AM THE PHOTOGRAPHER. I AM DUE TO JUST WHAT I SAID AT THE OPENING. I USE ANYONE, ANYTHING. CREATIVITY DOESN'T HAVE A CLASSROOM AND DEDICATION AND PERSEVERANCE HAS NO LIMITS BUT WHAT YOU PLACE ON IT. I AM SHOCKED AT MANY WHO PROFESS AND WANT TO BE SOMETHING, BUT EVERY TOOL AND LESSON AT THEIR DISPOSAL ISN'T STUDIED USED OR LOOKED UPON AS VALUE.

I want to thank you for the time and exposure. I love what’s happening over here baby. You guys keep a watch for more on Lloyd Parks. Gorgeous, the magazine soon to go online by September 1st.”
